Dear Friends of the DP Jazz Choir:

 

If you missed hearing the DP Jazz Choir perform in February, you still
have the opportunity to hear them perform in March so don't despair!

$5.00 cover charge (goes directly to the Jazz Choir)

7:00 pm is the first set

 

The doors will open at 5:00. Dinner is served daily from 5:30 - 10:00
pm. Dinner Reservations are recommended, as seating is limited.

Please remember this is a fundraiser for Europe Jazz Festival Tour this
summer - let's fill the house and support the efforts of this choir!!

Donations are gladly taken.

 

 

If you find yourself out shopping at the Costco Center the weekend of
March 9th and you're hungry, drop in to Baja Fresh (7127 Hollister Ave.,
Ste 30 Goleta, CA 93117 - near the DMV. Don't mistake this for La Salsa
or those restaurants between Borders and the theater!) and tell them, "I
support the DP Jazz Choir" if you don't have a coupon. (If you have a
coupon, just hand it to them with a big smile!!) A percentage of your
purchase will be donated to the choir, and we THANK YOU!

March 23rd the choir heads to Monterey for our first jazz competition -
the Next Generation Jazz Festival/Monterey Jazz. The contest begins
Saturday, March 24, 9:00 am - 10:00 pm / Sunday, March 25, 9:00 am -
5:00 pm at the Conference Center / Portola Plaza Hotel / Fisherman's
Wharf / Monterey Live. Here you will see the country's best student
musicians compete for a spot on the stages of the 50th Annual Monterey
Jazz Festival! We compete at 4:30 - the last slot of the day. Wish us
luck - better yet, come up and cheer us on!

March 25th, Kerry Marsh and CSUS, from Sacramento State University, will
be presenting a Master Class at DP from 3-5:00 pm for the choir. It's
too bad he's not coming BEFORE the contest, but hopefully his techniques
will help prepare us for the RENO JAZZ FESTIVAL in April!

So, that's the major events happening for the choir this month. We DO
hope you'll come out and support us at SOHO.  You do NOT have to eat
dinner to hear the choir sing so for $5.00 I hardly think you can go
wrong! Let's fill the house. Support the choir! I'll see you there!
